But when it comes to groups or duos, not too many can be described the same. Some of Hip Hop's greatest Groups/Duos always had the presence of a group but at the same time each individual member or Individual of the group/duo stood out and brought their own contribution to help excel the group/duo. Cats like Mobb Deep, C.N.N, MOP, Wu-Tang Clan &The Lox all were Excellent as a group/duo but were even more appealing individually. Whether it was Havoc Producing, Flava Flav being the Hype Man or Preemo DJ'in for Guru.
Its inevitable that groups & duos will eventually take the solo route and begin a career of their own individually, but what we can remember is what they did together . Before we had the idea that Cam', Jim, Juelz & Zeke were about to part ways, looking back we were all in awe at what they were able to do & accomplish together. We took it for granted.
We're in a day & age where everyone wants to be a Superstar, where Ego's rise higher than NYC buildings & Careers lasts shorter than a rookie Quaterback that didn't live up to his hype. Its a given fact, every Artist, especially Rappers want to be "Next", but with being "Next" comes great responsibility, a responsibility some can't even maintain.
I would like to introduce to those that are familiar, those that aren't, and to the World, "SLAUGHTER HOUSE". A New type of Group, one that doesn't have to deal with ego's, unstable careers and Straphangers. (II) Slaughter House Consists of Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9" & Crooked I. They're rise is a very unique and interesting one, one that couldn't be made up, written, or scripted. From the ongoing troubles with Labels, to the hardship with the new generation of ignorant listeners. Its been a constant struggle and grind for the "Quad 4". Individuality is a very important factor of the groups fast growing success & appeal, each coming from different parts of Inner City Communities around the Country with Joell being from Brooklyn, NY, Joe Budden from New Jersey, Royce from Detroit, & Crooked I from The West. Bringing all a sound and style that hasn't been heard in a long time if not at all. Presence and Versatility also follow the Quad 4, leaving a Trail that will give Listeners and Fans alike a sense of security and quality.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
